Born in Japan but raised in Skipton North Yorkshire, Manta is writing and producing his own distinct style of bedroom pop. Fusing genres such as hip-hop and pop and with influences ranging from Kenny Beats, Dominic Fike and Easy Life, Manta’s lyrics address relatable modern day issues, drawing you into the world he has created within his sound. With neon hair, a sharp style and a charismatic personality, Manta is as distinctive as his musical flair. Manta’s debut ‘Confined Spaces’ EP received widespread industry acclaim, including press tastemakers ‘Dork’ who dubbed the record “undeniably brilliant”. Further accolades range across editorial support via Spotify’s Peach playlist, frequent championing from BBC Introducing Manchester and a ‘Sub Culture’ profile feature with hallmark fashion brand Fred Perry. More recently Manta supported Rejjie Snow on his sold-out headline show in Leeds, as well as making his debut performance at The Great Escape in Brighton over the summer.
